A Musical Patent of the Day

Posted by innovativeip on September 23, 2010

Today’s Patent of the Day is U.S. Patent no. 1,073,593, issued September 23, 1913 for a cornet.

Today's Patent of the Day

Musical instrument patents are enjoyable subject matter, I find, because their purpose is to enable beautiful sound.  I would love to hear from a horn player regarding the concept of this invention, which is self-described as improving sound by changing the dynamics of the region between the mouthpiece and the bell.  It seems logical, as described, but sound can be a tricky subject.

If you’d like to read the details of the cornet in this Patent of the Day, please visit www.innovative-ip.net, and you can download the patent on the “Of Interest” page.  Enjoy!
