Remote Live Gambling…Is That a Good Idea?

Today’s Patent of the Day is U.S. Patent no. 5,800,268, issued September 1, 1998 for a “Method of Participating in a Live Casino Game from a Remote Location.”

Apparently, the idea is that you can link the casino directly to your bank account, and then participate and play by video monitor as if you are sitting at the blackjack table.  Convenient, yes, but I think I’ll stick the the traditional situation so that when my chips run out, I have to get up from the table and walk away to access more funds.  A direct line to the bank account seems just a little to easy…
